In my extraordinary efforts to make TheVAPassport.com the most hip and happening online service providers hang out on the web, I have acquired the assistance of DJ_VA also known as Alexandra Popovic from @VIPVirtualSols to assist me in bringing the party to the end of our busy weeks!
Every Friday, Alex will be dedicating a track from her online radio station at Blip.fm to one of our VA’s - all you have to do is make a song request.

TVTM #7 :: What Blogging Platforms Are The Most Effective And Why?
As many of you know we launched a Blog last month for members of The VA Passport, to keep them posted with all the latest important info from the members area, but in addition to this, I would like to build this up as a special space for members and non-members to interact on the posts through comments, so each week I start a discussion. Members can either respond in the forum or on the blog post itself.

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is a subject which we specialise in at Virtual Miss Friday, which has made it fairly difficult for us to offer advice on, not because we don’t want to share our expertise with you guys, but simply because of 3 things.
It can be complex.
It’s always changing.
It’s something we would want to go into in detail, because really, it’s all in the details.
Since I don’t have a programme currently available to really do us justice in handing over to you guys everything we know – I have put together this TREK, and it is a Great Start!
SEO has been a hot topic for a number of years, and will continue to be a hot topic because it means:
When you look at all of the newbie online marketers, service providers, bloggers, offline small business owners and charity/non profit organisations who are now online, you are looking at countless millions of people. The MAJORITY of these people still need solid SEO guidance and advice!
So if you want a crash course in getting started with SEO we now have a guide to teach you just that (and it’s not the rocket science kind of stuff) it’s good solid advice in SEO which will certainly get you started, even if you are a novice on the subject.
Although this is a PDF guide and not one of our standard style TREKS, I have sourced for you some very basic starter videos for SEO so for those of you who like to watch video, you’ve got those available too – hence why we made it a TREK and not an arrival.
TVTM #6 :: The One Thing You'll Wish Someone Had Told You Before You Start A Business
I have had a super week this week, I released my new look Flight Deck show on the Blog, Vimeo and iTunes. I also published a new TREK in The VA Passport on Monetising Domains, and I have a few other things for you I am working on – so exciting.
In amongst this, it got me thinking about how much time I spend on my business, don’t get me wrong, I love it, and I have got to the point where I can step away, spend time with family etc… but even during the times when I am not working at my business, it’s still very much at the forefront of my mind, so much so, that I published a blog post about it.
So this weeks discussion is about What everyone should know before they start a virtual business. (or any business for that matter!) What tips or advice do you have to share about this?
With the online world becoming big business, the offline world is catching on, and owning electronic real estate (or domains) is a very real part of working online as a service provider. Whether this be setting up your own sites, starting a blog, helping a client with their website etc… The list goes on.
But now, people are not just using domains to create their own websites, they are using them as a tool to to buy and sell online, and now offline, a bit like a piece of property.
This TREK with walk you through a step-by-step process of how to purchase a domain with the intention to make money from it. As online service providers, it’s a handy skill to have under our belt if we get a client interested in this type of business model, or we may intend to do it ourselves on the side to make a bit of income, why not give it a go. We are a fairly resourceful bunch of people, and why not use that to our advantage.
So you may be hanging out online one day and see someone looking for help with monetising domains, and you can flit back here to brush up on the how too, and then offer the complete packaged service! This would also make a good ‘Add On’ service for anyone providing website design and development or SEO, because you can upsell more and more WordPress sites for each domain to get the client started.
When I think about everything being an entrepreneur means to me, this video really resonates. I guess we’ll all take-away some very individual thoughts from his rather passionate ‘rant’, I hope you find it as helpful and insightful as I did.
So, Gary Vaynerchuk had quite an effect on me this week – who has that effect on you?
There’s a tremendous amount of virtual real estate out there. Achieving the right amount of exposure and attracting a suitable volume of traffic can seem to be an almost insurmountable tasks. Remember, however, that the Internet is a giant network and that each and every webpage must have a relationship of some kind or another with all of the other pages. By using social media websites smartly you can help to cultivate connections and establish specific paths to your primary moneymaking website. This entire process can be quite complicated and certainly time-consuming, but it is an ideal project for the virtual assistant.
